Ey, Emma here! I'm in Tokyo studying japanese at an international language school. I'll be staying here for a year! Check out my videos on YT too!

So after 3 intensive days acting like hard-core tourists we’re back home in Tokyo! If there is anything I hate, it’s looking like a darn tourist. You know the ones w a water bottle holder on their backpack, a tripod under their arm and a tourist guidebook glued to their faces? THAT was us! Okay.. not really. But we had a map.  Haven’t used a map ever in Tokyo, but since we had a tight schedule in Kyoto we figured it would be useful. I’m pretty proud of how much we got to see during our short trip. The “attractions” were scattered around the entire city. We traveled between the locations mainly by bus or train. And again, even the buses were on exact time. We picked five different places to see. All were equally as impressive! And I’m happy to have seen them all. The only time that I’ve REALLY appreciated a “tourist attraction” was when seeing the Great Wall of China. The feeling is hard to describe. It’s like you can’t grasp how it all got there. That, plus the amazing view. I came close to feeling something similar in Kyoto. The things we saw weren’t just “another couple of temples”. They were all something I had never seen before. Unique.
It was also nice to get a “scene change” (and a hotel room w a shower you actually could stand in, lol). Kyoto felt more laid back. More traditional. And also more worn down. But w charm. Towards the end I felt homesick tho, wanting to go back to Tokyo. So it’s nice to be back :) Hope yall have had a nice couple of days too! If you want to see some more pics from Kyoto and the places we visited, check out my flickr tomorrow!
